We guide skitouring from our base in Skjomen, Narvik, which has amazing views to the sea and fjords. Not far away is the ski resort in Narvik, another option where you can use the gondol to give access to some of the best backcountry skiing in Norway. We were until recently established in Lyngen for four years, and being very well familiar with the area, we also do skitouring guiding in this amazing area.
The winter in northern Norway starts in December, around the same time as the sun disappears, and the polar night starts, which gives us a continous twilight for five hours. In the evening the northern lights takes over the show and this is the reason why locals call it the season of colour. With a headlamp we still go out for great skiing, skinning up in the dark to get the twilight on our way down. In the end of January the sun is back, and the days keep getting longer, until May. The skiing season is long and varied, and every month has its own charm.
