Dogsled supported skitouring expedition

A true adventure, where the main goal is to access mountains far from the crowds to do skitouring in a remote and wild area. We use sleddogs to carry food, equipment and drinks which makes it possible for the skiers to carry light backpacks on an “haute route” between the basecamps.

The original version is a 4-day tour, starting and ending in Skjomen and camping in tents and huts along the way. We use two different basecamps, and skitour to, and between these. The exact location of basecamp may vary depending on the snow conditions, making it very flexible and giving us the best ski in/ski out possible.

The touring is adapted depending on the skill level and fitness of the group, snow conditions and weather.

We use IFMGA certified mountain guides for the skiing, and a dogsledding guide who is responsible for the equipment transfer between camps. Tent and other common equipment such as cooking tools are included, and we also organize food and drinks for the tour. In the basecamp we use a lavvo with an oven for warmth, drying equipment and having dinner, and there is ample space for sleeping. Our guests need to have their own skitouring equipment and personal gear such as sleeping bag, sleeping mat, lunch and snack for the tours.

This expedition can be customized upon request, and possibly done in other areas if preferred.
